Date Night Jar — Connect ChatGPT or Claude

Ask Claude or ChatGPT for a night out, and the jar it builds lands in your Date Night Jar account. You open the app and it's already there.

Before you start

You'll need the full app.

Connecting an assistant comes with the full app, along with unlimited jars, partner sharing, and Discover. You can unlock it from the same screen in the app.

Set it up on a computer.

Connectors are added in Claude and ChatGPT on the web or in their desktop apps. Once it's connected, it works from your phone too — you only do this part once.

Step 1 — Copy the connector URL

This is the address you'll paste into Claude or ChatGPT. It's the same for everyone — your account is identified by the pairing code in step 3, not by this URL.

Or go straight to Claude's connector settings — name it Date Night Jar, paste the URL above, keep the detected defaults, then Add and Connect.

In ChatGPT

The connector works in ChatGPT too, on a paid plan, using its developer mode. We haven't written that one up yet — the URL above is all it needs, and the pairing code in step 3 works the same way.

Step 3 — Enter your pairing code

The pairing code is how we know the account is yours. Generate it only once you're looking at the page asking for it.

In the Date Night Jar app, open Settings → Connect ChatGPT / Claude.
Tap Get a Pairing Code.
Type it into the authorization page and choose Authorize.

Codes expire after 10 minutes and work once. If yours runs out, tap Regenerate and enter the new one. There are limits on how often codes can be requested and entered, so slow down rather than retrying in a burst.

What it can do

Build a whole jar

Ask for something like "a jar of rainy Sunday dates in Melbourne under $40" and it creates the jar, with ideas, in your account. You get a link that opens it in the app.

Send over a single idea

One idea arrives as a notification and waits in the app until you file it into whichever jar you want. Nothing is added to an existing jar without you choosing where it goes.

What it can't do

It can only create. It can't read, edit, or delete anything already in your jars — your existing ideas, photos, memories, and partner sharing are never exposed to the assistant.

If something goes wrong

"That code has expired or already been used."

Codes last ten minutes and work once. Tap Regenerate in the app and enter the new one straight away.

It says you don't own the full app.

Open Settings → Connect ChatGPT / Claude in the app. If it offers to restore purchases, do that first — it re-checks with the App Store. If it still doesn't recognise the purchase, email us below.

"Too many code requests."

There's a short cooldown and a daily cap. Wait a moment and try again.

You can't find connector settings on your phone.

That's expected — connectors are added on the web or desktop. Do the setup there once and it'll work on your phone afterwards.

You want to disconnect.

Remove the Date Night Jar connector in Claude or ChatGPT. Access stops immediately. Anything already created stays in your account.

What gets shared

Only what the assistant sends us: the jar or idea you asked it to create. We never send your existing jars, ideas, photos, or memories to Claude or ChatGPT, and connecting one doesn't give it any way to look at them.
